What Is Grass-Fed Beef?
Refers to cattle that have eaten grasses and foraged on pasture throughout their lives. During the winter months, the cattle eat dried grasses (hay) and or fermented grasses (haylage). In contrast, grain fed cattle eat a mixture of grains mainly consisting of corn, soybeans and other grains. Grain feeding is much more common in large scale beef farming operations.
The process of raising cattle on pasture means the animals will take longer to reach maturity. The animal's diet and ability to roam freely makes it harder for a cow to put on size than when compared to a similar animal raised on a high caloric, grain based diet.

The Noble's pride themselves on farming near Creemore, Ontario for over 8 generations. Dave Nobles' ancestors originally settled their farm in 1843. The main focus when raising cattle is to ensure the animals have the best quality of life possible. Calves are born on pasture often without the presence or assistance of the farmer.
The animals often choose to give birth in the safety of a surrounding cozy treed area. Once born, the new calves will spend approximately 7 months outside eating grass and drinking their mother’s milk before weaning.
There is absolutely no form of confinement, aside from the property's vast fence-line.

Our Cattle Are Raised In Family Herds
The Noble's farm can raise animals in family herds from birth to maturity without ever leaving the farm. This is important for consumers because travelling from farm to farm can cause a lot of stress for cattle. Stress leaves the animals prone to sickness and more likely to require medications.
If an animal happens to need medical treatment, Noble’s farm will call a veterinarian and seek treatment on a case by case basis. If by chance an animal happens to need medical treatment, that animal is removed from the herd, treated and then reintroduced only once they have recovered.

Our cattle are born and raised on Noble’s Farm. Apart from grazing on neighbouring farmland, the cattle live within Noble’s sustainable farming operation for their entire lives.
On Noble’s farm, the grasses the cattle eat grow naturally without the use of pesticides and the manure the cattle create is used to fertilize the fields for future grazing.

Ontario, Canada has some of the best grazing lands on the planet. At the end of the last ice age, when the glaciers receded they left Ontario with some of the deepest, most nutrient-rich topsoil located anywhere on earth.
Our beef farm provides an abundance of grazing land where the animals are fed a mixture of natural grasses consisting of orchard grass, bromegrass, timothy grass, as well as legumes including alfalfa, red clover, and trefoil.
Noble's farm is free from pesticides. In the pasture, weeds and thistles are dealt with naturally by frequent mowing. Also, the farm provides an unlimited source of fresh-water.
